Note: You cannot make corrections to receiving transactions against internal shipments.

When you are entering a correction, the first step is using the Find Corrections window to identify the transaction that you want to correct. See: Finding Corrections.

You can enter positive or negative corrections to any receiving transaction. However, there are some restrictions. Purchasing allows you to enter correction quantities greater than the outstanding receiving supply quantity.

You can also make corrections to Return To Supplier transactions. For example, if you realize that you want to return only 9 items to the supplier instead of 10, you can adjust the Return to Supplier transaction by -1 to reduce the open purchase order supply by 1 and add it to receiving supply. You can then adjust the related Return to Receiving transaction by -1 to increase your on-hand balance by 1 and remove the corresponding receiving supply. Similarly, if you want to return 11 instead of 10 items to the supplier, you can perform an additional Return to Supplier transaction. However, you can also adjust the Return to Receiving transaction by 1 to reduce the on-hand balance and increase receiving supply, and then adjust the Return to Supplier transaction by 1 to increase your open purchase order quantity and remove the corresponding receiving supply.

When you make corrections to a receipt created against an Advance Shipment Notice (ASN), your purchasing, in-transit, and inventory supplies are automatically updated. See: ASNs and Supply.
