Planning Outside Resource Load

Capacity performs rough-cut and detailed capacity planning for time based outside resources. As such, you can analyze your capacity plans for your outside resources and use these to set load expectations for your supplier. You can also use capacity planning to help you negotiate prices and volume discounts for outside services.

Capacity does not include resources with non-time based units of measure in its capacity plans. All capacity plans are displayed in hours. So, even resources which have time based units of measure other than hours must have unit of measure conversions defined for hours. For outside resources in units of measure such as EA for each, you can define another resource on your routing to use for scheduling purposes and to include in your capacity plans.
