The Recruitment Cycle
Within any recruitment function, there is a common cycle of tasks. There are three main areas: preparation, selection, and appointment, supported throughout by the production of standard letters and reports.
- Preparation is concerned with the identification of a vacancy, the authorization to take some action, and running one or more recruitment activities.
- Selection begins with the receipt of applications and ends with the issuing of offer or rejection letters. You define your own stages of the selection process and track applicants through the stages.
- Appointment takes the applicant from the recruitment process to employee administration where the initial tasks include entering terms and conditions and payroll information. Oracle HRMS makes this simple since recruitment, human resource administration, and payroll management can all be handled from the same personal records.
- Each task in the cycle is supported by automation of the standard paperwork that accompanies any recruitment process.
An analysis of your own detailed working practices will help you to decide whether to use Oracle Human Resources at a basic or an advanced level within each area. At the same time, you should identify the sequence of tasks performed by your users, from which you can derive one or more Recruitment task flows.
